Sam Riseborough

Drummer & Sales Counselor

At the age of eighteen months, Sam started bashing on ice-cream buckets with his Mum’s wooden spoons. At the age of six, he received his first drum kit; a Tama ImperialStar kit, purchased from The Drum Shop in Piccadilly Square, East Perth. Ten years later, he started working at that same drum shop, and worked there for fourteen years before moving over to Kosmic.

During his early years, Sam performed all over Australia with multiple bands including the Phatts, Perth live dance band, and The Party Rockers. During this time, he learned what being a professional musician was all about, and how comfortable he was being in the spotlight.  He loves learning about all the new technology and how he can implement it in his overall technique and performances.

In October of 2014, his family of three relocated from Perth, Australia to Dallas, Texas. He took a year off to focus on getting the family settled, and as soon as they were, he was back behind the drums. In 2016 Sam reached out to the owner of Intensity and requested an audition.  After hearing him perform, along with the great Aussie accent, we were thrilled to have him join the Intensity family.

When Sam is not performing, he enjoys shooting photography, editing photos and spending time with his son and “hot” wife.

Cory Hamilton grew up knowing he wanted to be a performer.  His mother was a talented musician who played piano and instilled in him a love and respect for music at an early age.  When he was ten years old he asked for a keyboard for Christmas, his mother told him they had to many keyboards in the house and he needed to choose a different instrument.  After hearing a song on the radio, he knew the bass was the instrument of choice.

At the age of sixteen, Cory performed at his first live recording with a gospel choir. By the time he was eighteen he was touring the country with the great Greg O’Quinn.  Cory has played with the Ce Ce Winans, The Potter’s House, Carnell Murrell, his biggest inspiration after his mother, and many more. He is a lover of all genres of music and loves pleasing the crowd.

Cory joined the Intensity family in 2016. When he is not performing with In10City, he enjoys playing at church every Sunday, and spending time with his two amazing boys.

Crístian Alberto Román Pérez, also known as Cris Román was born in Panamá City, Panamá and made his way to the United States in 1999 because of his father’s military service. While earning his Master’s degree at The University of North Texas (2015), Cris received a Downbeat Magazine student award in the Latin Jazz Combo category (2014) and was a member of The Two O’clock Lab Band and the UNT Latin Jazz Lab.

Previously, Cris graduated from Lufkin High School in Lufkin, TX (2006) and received his Bachelor’s degree in music education from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas (2010). Aaron Rader

Bass Guitar & Trombone

From a young age, Aaron Rader has enjoyed a life-long pursuit of performing music. His musical training began on piano at age 9, and he chose trombone for middle and high school band. At age 15, Aaron decided to try electric bass, an instrument that would follow him through the years. Although he played trombone in school, he found opportunities to play electric bass in local jazz ensembles and church worship bands during his teenage years.

As a bassist, Aaron considers his greatest influence to be Nathan East, the renowned LA studio bassist for artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Eric Clapton. In fact, he continues to perform on a 5-string Yamaha Nathan East Signature Series.

Since moving to Texas in 2004, he has played both trombone and electric bass in various jazz, country, salsa, and Top 40 bands in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Think Big Party reflects Aaron’s belief that music is meant for entertainment, not narcissism.

Aaron holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) from the University of North Texas, and since 2007, he has been the Associate Professor of Low Brass at Collin College in Plano, TX.

Jordan Carr

Trumpet

Jordan Carr, originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, has been an ever-evolving musician from an early age.  Picking up the trumpet in band class during the middle of his 6th grade year, Jordan was the weakest musician in his age group.  However, he immediately discovered a passion for music, particularly classical, and with much practice was awarded the Royal conservatory of music medal for best provincial grade 4 score, in 2007.  He continued to push himself throughout secondary school, receiving the outstanding musician award each year from Lord Beaverbrook High School, and was recognized again by the province of Alberta for the most outstanding solo at the Alberta International Band festival, in 2009.  It was only in late high school that Jordan branched out from his classical roots into new musical grounds; performing with two high school big bands, a local community big band, a high school jazz combo, an original jazz combo, the pit orchestra for a production of “Into the Woods”, and a few solo performances, on top of remaining in the high school concert ensembles.

Following graduation, Jordan was offered a scholarship to attend the University of North Texas.  Jordan studied music theory, jazz, and English, and took private lessons under the tutelage of Jay Saunders (Stan Kenton Orchestra) and Paul Stephens (Maynard Ferguson).  While at UNT, Jordan had the opportunity to record two albums with the Downbeat award-winning ensemble, the Two O’ clock lab band, as well as an album with The Latin Jazz Lab band, which subsequently won a Student downbeat award for Latin Group Undergraduate College Outstanding Performance, in 2016.  He performed with these two bands, the Grammy Nominated One O’ clock Lab band, and many bands outside of the school environment during this time.  Upon completion of his studies, Jordan moved to Dallas to further his musical career.

Jordan has become a prolific performer in many styles of music like Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Blues, Funk, Neo Soul, Merengue, Salsa, Pop, Fusion, Latin Jazz, and classical.  As such has shared the stage with many notable artists across a wide variety of styles, from artists like Casey James (American Idol finalist) or Cynthia Scott (Ray Charles), to Grammy Award winners like Raul Acosta (Oro Solido) and Robert “Sput” Searight (Snarky Puppy).   He has also shared the stage with Wycliffe Gordon, Bob McChesney, Victor Goines, Sean Martin, MonoNeon, Hannah Kirby, and Brian McDonald to name a few, and he regularly plays with many local bands in the DFW area.

Kyle Stroud

Sax & Vocals

Originally from Longview, Texas, Kyle is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist bringing incredible talent to Think Big & The Bulletproof Brass  In addition to being an incredible saxophonist and soloist, he also plays the flute and is an accomplished lead singer.

Kyle’s parents were very artistic and their talents passed to him.  He was recognized in school at an early age to be gifted in various arts including painting, drawing, singing and playing the flutophone.  One day while at home watching a holiday parade on TV, Kyle was intrigued by an instrument that he saw a band member playing in the marching band.  He thought that it “looked complicated” and told his mother that was the instrument that he wanted to play. It was the saxophone.

In the Sixth grade, Kyle’s’ mother, bought his first sax (an alto) and informed him that “this was a big investment for a single mother to make”.  Kyle agreed and got to work, quickly earning several performance awards.  He later attended Longview High School under the direction of Pete Kunkel, where he became the youngest All State band member in his class.

Kyle attended Kilgore Junior College in Kilgore, Tx. as a Music Major under Directors Wally Reed and Jerry Hale.  He continued his education by attending Jarvis Christian College for a short time. He was then offered a full music scholarship if he would move to Austin.  Kyle took the offer and moved to Austin, Texas and attended Houston- Tillotson University where he acquired a Bachelors’ Degree in All-levels Music with a minor in English.

Kyle has performed with Barry White, Nancy Wilson, Chaka Khan, and Aubree Anna. He has also performed with numerous musicians and groups such as Human Touch featuring keyboardist Joel Guzman, The Business featuring vocalist/Larry Braggs (now with Tower of Power) and well as the Fabulous Thunderbirds and members of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Otis Webster and the Metro band; Bassists/Dwight Sirls, Michael Henry, Crawford Davis, John Echols; Drummers/Brady Blades, Brandon Temple, Popcorn, Peabody, Larry Hall, Joey Monk; Percussionist/Charles Barnett (Paula Abdul) and Keyboardists/Jeff Lorber, Joel Guzman, George Faber, Clayton Jones, Doc Gibbs, Billy Young, Gary Wooten, Bernard Wright, Rev.Eddie Templeton, Linny Nance, and Bobby Sparks, an Organist/Keyboardist who has played for Prince Marcus Miller; Guitarists/Gary Boren, Domino, Brent Boyd, Byron Canada, Johnny Dunn; Vocalist/Melissa Lanes, Dena Ochoa, Larry Braggs (Tower of Power), Ray Crumley and Doc Gibbs.

After college in Austin Kyle moved to Greenbelt, Maryland where he became head band director at a high school in Prince Georges’ County Maryland.  Later he moved back to Texas after hearing the news that his mother’s health was declining due to cancer.  He then got a job as head band director at a high school in Shreveport, Louisiana, a neighboring city across the state line from his home town Longview, Texas.

After Kyle’s’ mother, father and grandmother passed away, he moved to Dallas, Texas to pursue his entertainment and performance career.  After playing throughout the Dallas Metroplex, Brent Boyd discovered Kyle’s’ talent and asked him to join his band. Today Kyle Stroud still performs with Think Big & The Bulletproof Brass under the new owner Joe Hargrave of Intensity Entertainment!  He also teaches music for the Garland Independent School District.

He loves helping the kids and says that they even teach him.  He hopes that his helping the kids will prepare them not only for music, but will also give them a better foundation to face the world in the future.

Tony Crawford began teaching himself to play lead guitar when he was just a teenager. As inspiration in his younger years, he drew on greats such as Jimi Hendrix and Frank Marino for influence. Over time he increased his skills by playing with local groups in his hometown of Texarkana, Arkansas. His greatest inspiration was playing behind his father, who was a well-known local blues singer.

Later, Tony joined the military where he was professionally trained in music theory and sight reading as a lead guitarist for the US Navy Band in Memphis, TN. While serving his country, Tony was given the opportunity to play all over the fifty states. He spent time on Memphis’s famous “Beale Street” playing with well-known blues and R&B Artists.

After retiring from the Navy, Tony settled in the Dallas area and quickly joined Dallas’s music scene.
